Danielle on the Traffic Bridge.
I remember taking this shot.  I wanted a relaxed look, and room for the viewers eye to travel around. Kind of like a standard portrait shot, but with the background in focus, and interesting.    I processed this one so that the details in her coat were as detailed as everything else.  By doing that I feel the details of the jacket dont overpower her face. So she is still the subject but keeping the background strong.  Lots of color and detail.

Us near Drumheller AB

So we took a little trip to Calgary last week based around a Lighting seminar I was attending. On the way we had discussed the fact that we don't have that many pictures of us.  We used to take more when we were overseas, but its kind of dropped off since we got back.

Ive tried other kinds more formal ones, quirky ones, ones that were technically perfect, but they all seemed to lack any real meaning.  Looking back these are the ones I like best.  Its just us and the background, handheld, with a nice wide angle lens.

Sometimes its the simple shots that speak volumes.

Btw, the lighting seminar was pretty good, but as I expected I didn't really learn anything new. I'm not saying that I know everything, just saying that I didn't have any earth shattering enlightenments.
